1.ROHTANG PASS :
It is highest mountain pass with the altitude of 3,978 meters above the sea level . It is famous for its picturesque views of the valley and various hidden waterfalls. It is a must visit on your trip Kullu-Manali and if you want to go Ladakh. It is one of the ways to go there .
2. HADIMBA TEMPLE
Temple is dedicated to RAKSHASA HASIMBA Who was also the wife of Bhima. Temple is surrounded by deodar forest. It was built in 1553 . the architecture of the temple is like the Buddhist temple , the whole temple is made up of wood and 70 meters from the temple also lays the temple dedicated to Ghatotkacha, the son of Bhima and Hidimba and a hero of the Mahabharata war.
3. VASHIST HOT WATER SPRINGS , MANALI :
The place is 4-5 kilometers away from the Manali and is situated near the Beas River . The place of VASHIST RISHI is famous for hot sulfurous hot water springs and is a popular attraction among tourist and pilgrims. The village is also famous for its stone temples which are dedicated to a local saint Vashishta .
4. Solang Valley
Valley is a known as a “snow-point” is very famous for various winter adventure sports like skiing and paragliding etc . The place is located at the altitude of 2,560 meters above the sea level . The views from the point are magnificent and give views to snow-capped peaks and glaciers .
5. Basheshwar Mahadev Temple :
The temple is Located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Kullu at a small village called Bajura,Bhasheswar Mahadev Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity lord Shiva. It was constructed back in the 9th century AD and is famous for its intricate stone carvings and various small idols of the Hindu deities like Lord Vishnu, Ganesha, Durga and Laxmi.
It is a natural cold water spring that originates from the Brighu River. The springs are located 5 Kilometers from Manali on the national highway to Leh towards Keylong. The place is named after Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru who was said to drink from this very spring whenever he visited Manali. The place is a serene and beautiful picnic spot which is sure to refresh your senses .
7.Bijli Mahadev Temple
Located at an altitude of 2,460 meters above sea level, Bijli Mahadev Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva. The temple is located across the Beas River and can be reached by a moderately easy trek. The name Bijli Mahadev refers to the 60 feet highlighting rod that is situated in the temple and is struck by lightning throughout the year.
Manikaran is located in the Parvati Valley along the banks of river Parvati, northeast of Bhuntar in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 1760 m and is located about 40 km from Bhuntar.This small town attracts tourists visiting Manali and Kullu to its hot springs and pilgrim centers.An experimental Geothermal Energy plant has also been set up here.
Manikaran is a pilgrimage center for Hindus and Sikhs. The Hindus believe that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood, making it a sacred area. It has many Temples and a Gurudwara. There are temples of Lord Rama, Krishna, and Vishnu. The area is well-known for its natural hot-water springs and its beautiful landscape.
High on the east side of the Kullu Valley, sleepy Naggar was once capital of the Kullu kingdom and is perhaps the most charming village in the valley today. Russian painter and explorer Nicholas Roerich (Nikolai Rerikh) liked it so much he settled here in the early 20th century. It’s an easy day trip from Manali, but with interesting sights and some good guesthouses and restaurants.
10. Beas River
Beas River is often described as the Heart of Kullu valley and is known for its various camping spots and water sports. The river also marks the eastern border of Alexander the Great’s empire in 326 BC. The flow of the river is very fast and is not fit for swimming, but is the perfect for Rafting. The shores of the Beas are famous picnic spots and the best place to relax during the evenings.
